Step 1: Download LogBook App from Google Play

Open Google Play Store on your Android phone and search for "LogBook" or "Vrox Labs LogBook". Tap Install - the app is completely free with no hidden charges. Once installed, open the app and register with your mobile number. LogBook automatically assigns you an Admin merchant account.

Step 2: Set Up Your Business Profile with GSTIN

Go to Settings and enter your business details: company name, full address, state, GSTIN number, and bank/UPI payment details. This information appears on every invoice header. LogBook auto-detects your state for correct CGST/SGST vs IGST calculation on inter-state and intra-state sales.

Step 3: Add Products with HSN Code and GST Rate

Navigate to Items tab and add your products. For each item, enter the product name, HSN/SAC code, applicable GST rate (5%, 12%, 18%, or 28%), selling price, and optionally a barcode. LogBook includes a built-in HSN Code Finder to help you look up the correct code. You can also scan product barcodes using your phone camera for faster entry.

Step 4: Create a New GST Invoice

Tap the Invoice button on the home screen. Select or add a customer (with optional GSTIN for B2B invoices). Add items from your inventory with quantity. LogBook automatically:

Step 5: Share via WhatsApp or Print on Thermal Printer

Once saved, you have multiple sharing options. Tap Share PDF to send the invoice via WhatsApp, SMS, or email. If you have a Bluetooth thermal printer (58mm or 80mm), tap Print Invoice to print a professional receipt with your store logo and UPI payment QR code. The receipt prints in seconds - perfect for retail counter billing.

What Details Must a GST Invoice Contain?

As per GST law (Rule 46 of CGST Rules), every tax invoice must contain:

1. Supplier name, address, and GSTIN
2. Consecutive serial number (unique for each financial year)
3. Date of issue
4. Recipient name, address, GSTIN (for B2B)
5. HSN/SAC code for goods/services
6. Description, quantity, and unit of goods
7. Taxable value and applicable discounts
8. Rate and amount of CGST, SGST, or IGST
9. Place of supply (for inter-state)
10. Total invoice value in figures and words

LogBook automatically fills in all these fields - you just need to add items and customer details. The app handles tax calculation, sequential numbering, and GST-compliant formatting for you.
